Our mission
It's in our nature to gather.
Connection happens in person. There's always something going on around you. Our job is making sure you know about it.

The inspiration
Seeing and being with people
One of Steve's favorite things to see is people outside and doing things. A nice day on the beach in California, people lounging around a park in Japan, a run club going around the lake in Tempe.
Being around people is good for your mental health. Whether you're browsing a farmers market, sharing a laugh at a comedy club, or catching up with a friend over coffee, third spaces are best experienced alongside others.

The problem
Lack of discoverability
- People want to do things, but can't find them.
- Communities have things to do, but can't find people.
Why should finding out what's going on depend on walking past a board outside a coffee shop? And why should a community have to play the social media game, where stories expire in a day and a post reaches a fraction of the people already following it?
Both sides are right there. They just have no reliable way of reaching each other.

How we're solving it
So we built Gather
One place where the two sides can actually reach each other. Here's what that looks like:
- Curating communities and events for each person, based on what they're actually into.
- Every follower sees a community's announcements and upcoming gatherings. No one has to catch them in time.
- One place for all of it, searchable from anywhere, instead of scattered across apps you don't have and doors you'll never walk past.
- Nothing expires. An event stays up until it happens, and a pinned announcement stays until it's taken down.
See you out there.
